School Support Programs

I would like to offer schools a range of Support Services both for Staff and for Students.
My 35 years of teaching and In - Service presentations experience gives me a wide range of classroom and staff support skills to pass on to your dynamic staff.
Teaching is a difficult proffesion and demands on schools and staff are ever increasing, often taking staff and the schools themselves close to breaking point.
Schools and Staff are expected to be all things to all studentsas  as well as delivering an ever more complex curricula and at the same time acarry an ever increasing load of Administration.
 
Pete has taught in NSW, UK, Bahamas, and SA
He was Senior Teacher in Special Education and Gifted Programs at Christies Beach High, Aberfoyle Park High.
He was founder and Manage of the Behaviour Disorder Unit and of the Christies Beach Unit for STAR and Special students.
He is author of the best selling Survival series, and a number of other publications .
Pete lives in the Southern Hills.

Staff Support Courses
Stress Busters
 
 
 
 Teaching is one of the most streeful of professions and as teachers tend to work on their own they often do not get the help needed to reduce stress.
This 8 hour course taken in 2 to 4 sessions introduces Stress its causes and ways to reduce our personal stress levels. It teaches a range of great Stree Buster that can be used personally but best of all with colleagues and family.
Covvered are Neck, Shoulder and Head Massage, Aromatherapy foot soaks and foot massage, Polarity Balances, Deep Guided Relaxation, Brain Gym, Emotional freedom technique, Alpha inducing Music and much more. This is a relaxed and happy course with full notes provided.
Staff or Parent Course
Dyslexia not a life sentence
 
 This 6 hour course that can be taken over 1, 2 or 3 sessions introduces the 60 or so indicators of Dyslexia and how these effect learning. This is folloed by a number of effective ways to boost the learning of Dyslectic Learners, most of whom are very bright. 
Full Notes are provided, No Butcher paper!!
 
Fee for course is $40 pp min 8 participants
Parents Course
Parents as Academic Power Coaches
 This 3 hour course helps parents support their childs learning and the school program  with positive involvement. Huge number of ways parents can become Power Coaches are introduced .
Fee pp for this course is $20 min 15.

Positve involved Parents improve student outcomes and reduce stress on staff

  Cost per person min 10 participants is $50
Student Support 
I offer a range of Individual and Small Group Student Support Programs.
These programs are to better help failing students especially those bright young people held back by Dyslectic or Emotional Issues.
 
 
Small Groups 6 to 12 students.
Each student is innitially given  a one and a half hour assessment. A short Parent meeting where the program is outlined is held.
After this the group meets once a week for a one hour small group session for 10 sessions.
At the end of this involvement a Post Program Group Assessment is carried out .
Each student spends a total of 13 hours on the Program and assessments, Parents information session is for 2 hours.
Fee for Each Student is $200.
 
Individual Program
The student is assessed and then a number of individual one hour sessions are held either in school or after school hours in my consulting rooms. Parents are fully involved and informed.
Fee is $50 per session
 
In both these programs Brain Gym Cognitive Refocus Accelerated Learning Techniques and Emotional Freedom Technique are used.
